The Chicago Cubs made a splash when they acquired outfielder Kyle Tucker in a trade with the Houston Astros, marking their first big move of the offseason and injecting some life into a franchise that desperately needed it.

One analyst doesn’t think the Cubs are stopping with the Tucker acquisition, as he believes they will make another big move to deal with an outfield logjam before the offseason is said and done.

“Perhaps this now means that Cody Bellinger is on his way elsewhere. Elsewhere could eventually be New York,” Jon Morosi said, via MLB Network.

Morosi said that the Tucker trade reannounces the Cubs’ return to the big leagues, so to speak, as the big-market franchise has been relatively quiet since winning the 2016 World Series.

Tucker’s presence makes it almost a certainty that Bellinger will be moved, with the New York Yankees a logical destination after losing out on retaining Juan Soto.

Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki has also come up in trade rumors, but he makes more sense as a fit alongside Tucker than Bellinger does.

Chicago still has plenty of money to spend as well, so it’s certainly possible the Cubs have another trick up their sleeves in the free-agent market.

Trading for Tucker is not the kind of move you make unless you are serious about contending, and it will be interesting to see what the Cubs do next to keep building upon this big splash.
