The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off their eighth World Series title in franchise history after finishing the season with a record of 98-64.
Even though the Dodgers won the World Series, they have continued to improve their lineup this offseason with the addition of starting pitcher Blake Snell.
The Dodgers might not be done adding to their rotation however as MLB Analyst Xavier Scruggs revealed that he thinks the Dodgers are the clear number one option for free agent Roki Sasaki.
“Roki Sasaki has seen the success of the Dodgers. The Dodgers development system and their pitching lab is top-tier,” Scruggs said via MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM.

Scruggs mentions that not only would Sasaki join other Japanese-born pitchers Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but he would have the opportunity to develop with one of the best teams in the MLB.
Sasaki is only 23 years old and is coming over to the MLB from Japan via free agency this offseason.
In 2024 with his overseas team, Sasaki pitched in 18 games where he had a record of 10-5 with a 2.35 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 111.0 innings pitched.
Scruggs believes that Sasaki won’t come over to the MLB as a clear number-one guy in a rotation, but he can develop into an ace starting pitcher with the stuff he possesses.
The Dodgers have plenty of solid starting pitcher options already, but they have struggled to stay healthy in recent years.
Sasaki is one of the top starting free agents remaining on the market, and the Dodgers should be the number one option for him to sign with before the 2025 season.
