The New York Yankees have had a roller coaster of emotions since losing the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

After losing the heartbreaking series to the Dodgers, the Yankees also lost their superstar outfielder Juan Soto who was this year’s top free-agent player and signed with the New York Mets.

Although the Yankees lost Soto, they acquired some key pieces for next season including free agent starting pitcher Max Fried, trading for relief pitcher Devin Williams, and trading for outfielder Cody Bellinger.

The Yankees also signed first baseman Paul Goldschmidt from the St. Louis Cardinals, and MLB Insider Joel Sherman revealed what he’s hearing about the Yankees possibly pursuing Nolan Arenado.

“I couldn’t find anybody with the Yankees who would say yeah, we’re interested in him,” Sherman said via New York Post Sports on ‘X.’

The Yankees need a third baseman and rumors have been swirling around Alex Bregman of the Houston Astros, but Arenado is another rumor.

Although Arenado’s name has been thrown around, Sherman revealed that nobody in the Yankees organization confirmed that interest.

Arenado is a veteran in the MLB who came into the league in 2013 with the Colorado Rockies where he played eight seasons before going to the Cardinals for the last four.

In 2024 with the Cardinals, Arenado played 152 games and batted .272 with 16 home runs, 71 RBIs, and a .719 OPS.

Sherman mentions that neither Bregman nor Arenado are a great fit at Yankee Stadium, but he has seen crazier things happen.

Arenado has been mentioned in trade rumors before, so he will be a name to keep an eye on to see if he will be on the move before the 2025 season.
